Upon believing the Good News and inviting Jesus into our heart, we become spiritually alive as the Holy Spirit quickens our spirit. As children of God, we also have become citizens of his eternal Kingdom. Jesus was the first to be resurrected, and we will be raised to eternal life as he was, receiving a spirit body like his.
After accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit’s guidance and help is essential for gaining spiritual understanding. One of the amazing benefits is his complete knowledge of God's Word, he is actually the inspirational authur of the prophetic writings, knows all the secrets within.
“No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit." 1 Cor 2:11 NLT
After being 'born again' and Christian maturity increases, we progressively stumble less often, inching closer to holy living. Expediency of this heart transformation depends on faithfully submitting to God’s love and wisdom. Also depends on the amount of time and effort applied toward learning Scripture, which is motivated by hunger for spiritual knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. Therefore, we each have a direct bearing on progression of individual growth.
Part of being a Christian is pursuing a relationship with Jesus, without which our spiritual growth would be stumped. Our prayers generally should be directed to God, but in Jesus's name. We are children of God, but Jesus is our Savior, Redeemer, King, Sheppard, Teacher, brother, and friend.
“You won’t need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name."
John 16:23 NLT
As the heart becomes repentant, and walking in faith becomes a habit, God places his peace within the heart. His peace is very wonderful, generates joy that withstands anything. Even during great tragedy or heartbreak, this inner peace won't be doused, as long as faith remains steadfast.
God’s wonderful peace is an assurance that our name is written in the Book of Life, boosting confidence and courage while trusting God to guide and protect. The Holy Spirit is an anointing, signifying we are God’s children, guiding toward an understanding of God’s Word.
"The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control..."
Gal 5:22-23 NLT
When our time on earth is over, we’ll live in very wonderful place called Paradise, until the second coming. The rapture will occur just before Jesus returns as King of kings. He will come down onto Mount Zion, and everyone whose name is written in the Book of Life will return with Him. He will begin a 1000 year reign on earth, you could call it the millennial sabbath.
God first breathed air into Adams lungs 6000 years ago, so this 7th millennium is the sabbath. God is including the faithful in the great sabbath, they will have received spirit bodies. There will be other people alive on earth in the physical who were not included in the rapture, they will still be tilling the ground.
After the millennium Sabbath, will be Judgment Day. Books will be opened and everything everyone has done will be revealed. People, whose names are not written in the Book of Life, will be judged according to their sins and sentenced to the lake of fire. This will also be the final sentence for Satan and all the other demons.
“Anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire."
Rev 20:15 NLT
“But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
Rev 21:8 NLT
People, who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, will be listed in the Book of Life. All their sins and wrongdoings will be wiped from the slate, because Jesus paid a very high price to redeem the saints, God will no longer remember their sins. All good things done in love and faith will be rewarded accordingly with eternal treasure.
God the Father will dwell with the saints, along with King Jesus. Can you imagine actually being able to approach God's throne, that will be an awesome privilege.
“God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.”
Matt 5:8 NLT
God will wipe the tears from our eyes, which I believe will be due to missing people we loved, who didn't receive salvation. We will feel great morning for them, but God will heal our hearts as we adjust to the reality that they are not part of our eternal family.
All God's children will have eternal lives, surrounded by his love. I'm assuming there will be lots of interesting things to do, it's in our nature to keep our minds occupied and accomplish things, God built that into us.
We will be one with Jesus, just as Jesus is one with God, and we will be one with God. In fact, according to the following verse, Christians are already one with God and Jesus, by the Holy Spirit. What that actually means will no longer be assumed.
“I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.”
John 17:21-23 NLT
